Used Iris to block out the center so that I could over-expose the corona. Some nice prominences.

 During first light for the 50mm Lens attached to my ATK 2HS. No tracking. Machholz is fairly close to the double cluster at this point.

A visitor that won't be back for another hundred thousand years, Comet Macholz was discovered last August.

 A four-image mosaic of the sun showing three prominent sunspot groups.

After 10 days of not being able to use my scope due to weather, I finally set it up... during the day. This was "first light" for my solar filter.  I had a difficult time with this until I put  my IR filter back on the camera and upped the exposure to 1/5000sec.

17 May 04 - Comet NEAT (C/2001 Q4)

While this comet has been less than impressive with the naked eye, it has been fun to follow with my telescope. This image represents about 15 minutes of exposures, culled out of about 30 minutes shot.

My first attempt at a comet. I was surprised to get the detail I did and something of a tail.
